Submission call for the Still Voices Short Film Festival 2020 now open!
Filmmaker
Görkem Yeltan is writer, actress, director, lyricist, and producer. She graduated from the Theatre Department at Istanbul University State Conservatory. She has starred in TV series, films, and plays. She won best actress award for two films: Wrong Rosary and September.
She wrote articles on children’s literature for two newspapers and has 19 published children’s books.
Her twentieth book “Sarmaşık ve Kaktüs” (The creeper and The Cactus) is a fairy tale written for the adults. She is a lyricist and has written the lyrics of Mehmet Güreli’s music albums. Being in the screenplay team of the Wrong Rosary, She won the best screenplay award with the film. The film won the best film award at the Rotterdam Film Festival.
Her first directorial debut “We Were Dining And I Decided” was invited to several festivals including İstanbul, Adana, IAWRT New Delhi Asian Women Films Festival, Montreal World Film Festival, Aichi Women's Films Festival, and Afghanistan Women’s Films Festival.
She has finished shooting her second film “The Shoelace”. She is the scriptwriter and one of the producers of Mehmet Gureli’s film “Four Cornered Triangle
