Submission call for the Still Voices Short Film Festival 2020 now open!
Couple of the Year depicts an alleged sexual assault. Esben and Katrine sleep together on the first night of fresher's week and the next day, they're disagreeing whether Esben went too far. From here on, the film intensifies and eventually descents into chaos to show how bad things can turn out when all the bystanders start to partake in the conflict and act as judge and jury.
Mikkel Tengvad and Victor Chaos are both Masters students in Film and media studies with focus on films aesthetics at the University of Copenhagen. Mikkel Tengvad's short films counts "Bob (2017)" and most prominently "Beneath the Surface (2018)" Victor Chaos' short films counts "Sugardad (2017)" and most recently "Man of Circles (2018)" Couple of the Year (2019) is their first collaboration.
