Call of the Forest Screening
Still Voices Presents a Special Screening of Call of the Forest in partnership with Whose Woods These Are Tree Festival.
On a New York City winter night, the fate of a young intoxicated boy is determined by his brief encounters with strangers, exposing a deeper underlying American truth. The modern day yogi, the pseudo social media activist, the young binge-drinkers, and the first generation American: all bound by their desire to be seen, yet blinded and divided by it, unable to look into the eyes of another. This is a story about the American inability to connect.
Nika Fehmiu is a filmmaker from New York City. She is a first generation American whose parents immigrated from former Yugoslavia during the war. At the start of 2018, Nika finished two new short scripts, Look At Me and Stone by Stone. In 2019, she completed the film Look At Me, supported by the IFP Fiscal Sponsorship program. She is now seeking funds to produce Stone by Stone, while simultaneously developing her first feature.
