Still Voices Presents a Special Screening of Call of the Forest in partnership with Whose Woods These Are Tree Festival.
Haunted by the death of her classmate and first love, Martha returns, ten years on, to their old meeting place. But as the memories of their relationship come flooding back, she must confront the tragic mystery that put an end to it.
Ellie is an award winning freelance director based in London. Her work for the online educational company History Bombs has picked up a number of awards, most notably a Children’s BAFTA for Learning in 2017. Ellie’s first professional short film OUTLINES premiered at Vancouver Film Festival and was selected for BAFTA accredited BFI Flare LGBTQ+ Film Festival and London Short Film Festival. It was nominated for the Iris Prize Best British Short 2017 and Best Director at New Renaissance FF 2018. Ellie is drawn to work that explores adolescence, identity and coming-of-age themes.
