Still Voices 2022 Submissions Open
The submission call for the 2022 edition of Still Voices is now open.
Jonatan, also known as MC Xerelete, has the dream of becoming a famous funk singer and, with that, providing the comfortable life that he sees in the media for himself and his father. Until this happens, both of them work as fishermen at the Guanabara Bay. Together, they face the responsibilities and obstacles that life throws at them.
Victor Quintanilha has a degree in Cinema from the Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro (2011); he has written and directed short films as “El Sonido del Silencio”, winner of the 3º place as best documentary at the Curta Criativo 2011 and “Condição”, Première Brasil Festival do Rio (2012). He specialized in Sound at Escuela Internacional de Cine y TV - EICTV (2015), where he worked as a sound designer for the short film “Iceberg”, which debuted at the International Documentary Filmfestival in Amsterdam (2015) and won the award for best short film at the Fribourg International Film Festival (2016). He has also worked at other short films that were awarded at international film festivals. Since 2015, he has worked as a sound editor in 25 feature films, such as the awarded “Aos Teus Olhos”, directed by Carolina Jabor; Fellipe Barbosa’s “Gabriel e a Montanha”; and “Bacurau”, directed by Kléber Mendonça Filho, as well as other documentaries and TV series. Currently he is working on his upcoming short film.
