On the 8th of October 2013, Geir Karijord goes missing in Romsdal Valley, Norway. This leaves his family in limbo - should they mourn their brother and son, or should they hope for his return? «I'm Free» depicts the family's experience of Geir's disappearance. It is an intimate documentary about loss, hope and living with unanswered questions.
Edvard Karijord and Bendik Mondal studied Film and TV together at Westerdals - Oslo School of Arts, Communication and Technology in Norway. Throughout their studies, they have cooperated on several productions, varying from short commercials and fiction films to documentaries and reality TV. In 2015 their short subject documentary "First Man Standing" had a successful festival run nationally, gaining an Honorable Mention for Best Documentary and the Audience Award at the 19th Norwegian Student Film Festival in Lillehammer. "I’m Free" is their thesis film and latest cooperation.
