Still Voices 2022 Submissions Open
The submission call for the 2022 edition of Still Voices is now open.
Realm, a virtual reality facility, is quite transparent about the erotic potential of its services. Wall to wall, Realm is lined with tempting previews from its menu of stock experiences. But it also offers something more: with the help of powerful data-mining technology, customers can create virtual facsimiles of real-life places and people. This hyper-personalization is what attracts clientele like Cecily, a young woman wavering between repression and obsession.
Maggie Brennan is an animator, cartoonist, and musician. She grew up on Long Island and lives in Queens. She recently received her MFA in Digital Animation and Motion Arts from Pratt Institute upon completion of her thesis film, Our Bed Is Green. As a cartoonist, she has been published by several outlets including The New Yorker, The Fader, and Inverse. She has created animation and illustration work for a variety of commercial and corporate clients including The Atlantic, The College Board, MetroPCS, Weight Watchers, Rimmel, Armani Exchange, Blue Moon, and Gushers.
